The photographer revealed that Kate Middleton “danced” to a “secret photo” while filming for her birthday

Her photographer revealed that Kate Middleton danced a waltz to rock ‘n’ roll during her 40th birthday.

For Kate’s 40th birthday yesterday, Kensington Palace released three photos revealing the sides of the Duchess of Cambridge, rarely seen by the public. The pictures were taken by Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi at Kew Gardens.

A source at the palace said: ‘From the three pictures, you can see the three sides of Kate’s personality. There is a regal side to it – as you can see in the classic shot where you look away; There is a more formal image in the red dress as a fashionable woman in her forties; Then there’s the close-up, which offers a more intimate perspective.

Speaking to Corriere.it, Paulo revealed how he took 250 photos during filming, with Prince William, 39, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis choosing their favorite photos to be released.

Her photographer revealed that Kate Middleton danced a waltz to rock ‘n’ roll to get a “secret photo” during her 40th birthday shoot.

He explained how the family chose the black and white photo in which Kate faces the camera, calling it “the return of the carefree girl”.

Meanwhile, the photographer explained how he first met Kate last November at Kensington Palace for tea, but it was at first “apprehensive.

He explained: ‘Knowing my mannequins, she was a bit afraid to face a real session, which then required about four hours of work. But once you start it will be very easy, I have reassured her.

Paulo also revealed how during a photo session at Kew Gardens, he asked Kate to “dance” so the camera got the perfect shot.

Paulo revealed how he took 250 photos during filming, with Prince William, 39, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis choosing their favorite photos to be released.

It is to explain: ‘In the end, I wanted to take pictures in motion, so with that gorgeous wide skirt I made her dance in front of the camera, a kind of rushing waltz mixed with a pinch of rock ‘n’ roll.

It is a classified image at the moment.

In the black and white photos, Kate wears two Collingwood pearl and diamond earrings for Princess Diana, while in the profile picture is her engagement ring, which also once belonged to Prince William’s late mother.

In the eye-catching color shot, Kate looks at the camera with her hand resting elegantly in the pocket of a red one-shoulder dress while her hair puffs out over her shoulder.

As in all the photos, her jewelry is limited to just one pair of earrings – in this case the diamonds were borrowed from the Queen’s private collection – so her expression is the focus.

The dresses are all designed by Alexander McQueen, the same design house that created Kate’s wedding dress in 2011.

The photos will be added to the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery sponsored by the Duchess – herself a passionate photographer.

They’ll join other photos of Kate, like Mario Testino’s engagement photo with William and her 2016 photo for Vogue.

Kate’s photographer, Mr. Roversi, was well known for the latest fashion and celebrity looks. Previous accolades include Kate Moss’ topless photography, campaigns for designers Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, and the transformation of the Pirelli calendar from lousy bikini shots to a more artistic product.

The Italian said of his approach: “My photography is more of a subtraction than an addition.

We all have some kind of expression mask. You say goodbye, you smile, you are scared. I’m trying to get all these masks away and put them down little by little until you have something pure left.

Last night, the Paris-based photographer was lavish in his praise of the Duchess, calling taking the royal portraits a “real honour” and “a moment of pure joy”.

He said: I was touched by her warmth and friendly welcome, and was charmed by her bright eyes that reflected the beauty of her soul and her smile, which indicated the generosity of her heart. I met a wonderful person, a person, with his positive energy, who can bring hope to the whole world.

The Duchess selected Mr Roversi, 74, in consultation with the National Portrait Gallery.

The photos also form part of this year’s Coming Home touring exhibit where photos of celebrities in their home cities will be shown.

Pictures of Kate will be shown in Berkshire, where her parents live, St Andrews, where she met Prince William as a student, and Anglesey, North Wales, where the couple spent the first years of their married life.

A palace source said it was fitting that a portrait of Kate was part of the exhibition because the Duchess “largely sees her role in bringing the nation and communities together”.

The palace said Kate will spend her birthday yesterday “in private” while it is believed there may be a larger joint party to coincide with William’s 40th birthday in June.
