Travis Scott has denied responsibility for the Astroworld tragedy
Astroworld is an annual music festival held in Houston, Texas. The festival is hosted by Houston-born Scott. On November 5, 2021, the first night of Astroworld Festival 2021 occurred.
During the concert, the masses’ rush resulted in at least 10 deaths, dozens of hospitalizations, and hundreds of attendees injured.
Since the concert took place, lawsuits have been filed against Scott, Live Nation, and other Astroworld artists. Scott has since claimed he was unaware of the dire situation while performing.
“It wasn’t until … minutes until the press conference that he found out exactly what had happened,” Scott said in an interview with Charlemagne tha Goode. “Even after the show, you were hearing a few things…but I didn’t know the finer details until minutes before the press conference. And even at that moment, you kind of like, what? You went through something.”
The rapper has denied responsibility for the Astroworld tragedy, saying, “The media wants to wear me out, but at the end of the day… it’s more about getting out and finding out what the problem is.”

The rapper encountered negative interest in Astroworld
Dior’s postponement of the Cactus Jack collaboration is one of the many public fallouts in the wake of Astroworld. In December 2021, Variety reported that Scott was “dropped” as one of the headlines for the upcoming 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival due to the negative attention that followed the Astroworld Festival.
Variety wrote in the report:
“This development follows a report by KESQ in Palm Springs that the controversial rapper was dropped from the bill after the tragedy at his Astroworld Festival in November, in which 10 people died after fans broke out while filming.”
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2022 will be held from April 15-17 and April 22-24.
